Fun Snacking With Post & Sing Movie (Super Easy HoneyComb Trail Mix)

The Importance Of Keeping Your Family Traditions Alive (and a Super Easy Honeycomb Trail Mix!)

Family traditions can give us comfort and help us build stronger relationships with our children, parents, spouse, and other family members.

To make sure younger generations are able to carry on the traditions that we hold dear, it’s important to preserve family traditions and not let the traditions fade over time.

One of my favorite Holiday family traditions is going over to my grandparents’ house. We usually go over on the 23rd and stay until the 26th. I have so many wonderful memories of our holidays and of our quality time together as a family.

The best part of this family tradition is the holiday movie marathon we have each year. We pull out all of the new and old classics and grab a bowl our favorite snack mix while we let the films roll.

Our favorite snack is this super easy Honeycomb® trail mix. You can whip it up in only a few minutes.

All you need is a box of Honeycomb Cereal, and a few other tasty ingredients. I added pretzels, almonds, cashews, raisins, and M&Ms to this latest batch.

Sometimes I add popcorn or marshmallows too – my daughter loves some marshmallows. And popcorn. Basically any snack foods — she’s rarely seen without some sort of snack in her hand.

Whenever I make this trail mix it brings back all my favorite memories.

It’s not only great for family movie marathons, it’s also a great snack for school lunch (my 9-year-old son loves taking some in his lunch box) and it’s a nice power-up on my daughter’s breaks between dance classes.

My kids recently told me that they can’t wait for Christmas so we can enjoy our favorite tradition. That makes me so happy because it’s something I’ve always looked forward to and now they do too.

Since we’re such movie enthusiasts, we’re really excited to see the movie SING© in theaters starting December 21, 2016. It looks like such a cute movie so I know the kids and I will enjoy it.

Right now, you can redeem this coupon on a participating Post Cereal Brands purchase AND you can enter the Sing Sweepstakes for a chance to win the $100,000 grand prize plus the chance to instantly win lots of prizes including movie tickets, speakers and more.*

Keeping your family traditions alive is important. It’s the legacy you will leave for your children, and the traditions you keep alive now form the foundation for the traditions they will one day keep alive with the families they create.

It takes effort, yes. But it’s truly worth it.

I want to hear from you!

  1. Family traditions are so important to me. I love making memories with my family. This trail mix sounds so good. I will be giving it a try for one of our get togethers. Thank you so much for sharing

  2. Family traditions are really important to me and I think that’s why I was so upset about not being able to have Christmas the way we used to. I now see how stupid that was because it really is about presence and not presents. I also can’t wait to try this recipe. Anything with honeycombs sounds good to me.

  3. I really love Honeycomb cereal, but sometimes it’s just a little too sweet to snack on by itself. I love that this mix includes pretzels and other things that will help offset the sweetness. I definitely need to give this recipe a try.

  4. I love starting new traditions whether it’s for the holidays or any time of year! Will share this recipe with my family

  5. I have tried hard to stay true to our family traditions. Sometimes it’s a struggle because the holidays can be a little stressful and demanding, but I love the memories we create! It gives us something to look forward to and something to look back on! Thank you so much for the recipe. I can’t wait to try it! I absolutely love honeycomb cereal, so it has to be good!

  13. I to believe that it is important to keep family traditions alive. It gives something to look forward to and to hold on to.

  14. Our family traditions are loading the family up in the car a couple of nights before Christmas and driving around the city looking at all of the Christmas lights and another is fixing all of the great food that my mother made and I made and now my daughter makes.

  15. I adore Honeycomb cereal and I bet it would be extra yummy in a trail mix.I am going to try this for Christmas. We do always have vat of trail mix around for munching instead of eating a zillion Christmas cookies.
