This Is The One Thing I Always Have Extra Of..

When I was in my teens, I was in such a rush to grow up.

I’d eagerly anticipate the mail drop off so I could see what goodies were in store for me. I’d fantasize about having my own house someday – and being able to decorate and do whatever I wanted. And I absolutely loved shopping for groceries and toiletries.

Anytime I shared these delusions of how great being an adult would be, my mom would reply “just wait until you have to buy toilet paper.”

At the time, I thought that was such an odd thing to say. I mean, of all the things adulthood brings why is buying toilet paper so bad?

Then one day (in my household of six), I ran out of toilet paper.

And I finally understood…

This Is The One Thing I Always Have Extra Of

From that day on, I vowed to never run out again. Toilet paper is the one thing I always have extra of.

  1. I like to make sure I have 4 packs of toilet paper in the house at all times. Since I do not want the unpleasant event to happen with friends over and the toilet paper is finished.

  2. I ran out of toilet paper once. It was horrible. Especially with little kids running around. Never again…

  3. I always stay stocked up on this toilet paper. I love everything about it. Each roll lasts a long time and it is soft. It is also a good paper to use with septic systems. Thank you for sharing

  4. You can never have enough of the toilet paper. I am headed to Sam’s tomorrow to see about a deal there. Thanks for the information.

  5. You can never have enough toilet paper. I learned that as a girl. Living in a house with 5 older siblings. Being the youngest was a job and learning experience.

  6. oh i hate running out of toilet paper. it’s the absolute worst. i like to stock up on paper products like napkins, paper towels, and tissues. good to have some extras if you have adequate space in a storage closet.

  7. Think most of us have had some close calls running low on supplies. I don’t even like it when a guest (mother-in-law) came downstairs to let me know the TP was out upstairs. I had more. Just hadn’t stocked the upstairs bathroom (enough). I’m learning to avoid this problem.

  8. Ohh I also stock up on T.P. and Paper Towels, usually get them from Amazon on Auto Ship, I also have a T.P. Roll Saver Container on the back of my Toilet, I put an extra Roll in there, in case I run out.

    Thanks for the Post!

  9. This post made me laugh. I ran out of tp the other day, there was none upstairs so I had to scream from the bathroom to go run to the storage closet downstairs to get some, because I was well.. indisposed. Life lesson? Make sure you always have backup rolls in the bathroom! lol

  10. I love Scott brand TP. Like you I always make sure I have extra on hand. I love the large rolls and it is so soft. Thank you for sharing this product

  11. I don’t think my newlywed daughter realized what being a grownup truly was until she discovered she had to buy the TP now, Mom wasn’t going to do it anymore for her

  12. This blog made me chuckle a bit ! I can realate , house of 8 . geeez ! It does run out ! I’m in my mid 20’s and I have learned how to coupon. I’m well stocked up and is one item I’m always excited of when it comes to saving and providing for my family.

  13. I would imaging with a household of 6 you do go through the tp pretty fast. I have often heard that is one thing we all should be stockpiling because it could be a rare commodity in case of a disaster. Scott is a good one.

  14. Reading your article Carin I remembered of a very funny inside family joke that we have related to toilet paper. My mom taught me to always have plenty in the house, no matter what. Curious thing, we also buy ans use the same brand from Sam’s Club and we really like it.

  15. The Scott 1000 is our go to brand also. I’ve run out before and embarrassingly admit to lowering myself to coffee filters lol, but in my defense those were my broke college years. I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s had this problem.

  16. I think everyone can relate to there being this ONE TIME that they ran out of toilet paper! Haha! It is good to have extra on hand – some things truly are better to have too much than too little….. toilet paper would probably top the list, right?

  17. Lol, I thought I was the only one who had a fear of running out of toilet paper! I have two large packs in my house at all times. 🙂

  18. Yep, you’re just like me. Toilet paper is not something you want to run out of, and just like you I buy it in bulk at Sam’s Club. I love buying things in bulk like dish soap. I only have to buy dish soap like 3 times a year! That’s not bad! Same with toilet paper, I usually can make the toilet paper from Sam’s club last about 2 months with a family of four.
