How I Stay Energized In My Busy Day

I have been compensated by Nature Valley for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.

Summer is a seriously busy time for me and my kids.

My 14-year-old daughter has dance competitions, camps, tryouts, summer sessions… basically…a lot of dancing. She’s also preparing for high school this Fall (insert panicked emoji) so she’s been making checklists of all the things she needs to get and do. She’s also been talking–nonstop–about how excited she is about high school.

On the other hand, my 10-year-old son has football camp and then daily practices starting this week so his schedule is about to get insane, too. He’s also excitedly awaiting the start of fifth grade, his last year of elementary school. My older son just turned 20 and he’s also got a ton of stuff on his to-do list each day. Not to mention taking care of his sweet little 18-month-old baby boy.

Then there’s me. I work full-time, have my blog to keep up, my business to grow, and lots of mommin’ to do. No rest for the weary and all.

Busy is an understatement around here.

When we have such busy days, it’s important for us to be able to keep up. Not much is worse than feeling drained when there’s plenty left to do for the day. So I always appreciate something that helps us stay energized while hopping to and from our various activities.

That’s why I love Nature Valley XL Bars.

I start work at 6 AM and sometimes I look up and lunchtime has come and gone. When I get off at 3:30 I usually jump right into my scheduled activities for my business or blog and my mom taxi duties.

I know it’s important to not skip meals so I don’t do that often, but when I know I have a busy day ahead and I might not remember to grab lunch I make sure to have my Nature Valley XL Bars on-hand so I can keep going during a long day.

The best part is that my kids also love the Nature Valley XL Bars. So it’s a snack I can keep stocked that is perfect for the whole family!

  1. I am going to have to check these out. I am bad about putting eating off, and it is true it is an energy drain. I run through my day and think ‘I will grab something later’. This just leads to energy drain and overeating when i finally grab something.

  2. I have not tried these yet. Have you ever tried the Natures Bakery Fig bars? I love them and they’re not too sweet, either.

  3. “mom taxi duties”, you’re so right! Being a mom is really the hardest job in the world…I’m not a mum, but I see how mine has been able to handle 3 kids without losing her mind and it’s incredible.
Having energize bars with you surely helps to go through the day and those seem delicious…expecially the Pretzel, Peanut & Chocolate ones. What I like the most is that there’re 8 in a pack, when there are usually 6 of them

  4. These sound like a great quick snack, I always try to have healthy options when we are out and about. I love Nature Valley too, I will definitely have to check these out! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  5. Our family has been a fan of Nature Valley Bars for years now! I don’t know why, but they removed one of my favorites from the grocery shelves. The Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Thins are the ones I can’t find anywhere & I am very SAD! I used to find them at Walmart. I am a Diabetic so I like to keep a bar with me! The next time I am at Walmart, I’m going to pick up a box of the Nature Valley XL Sweet & Salty Chocolate Nut & Seed Granola Bars. Thank you for sharing!!

  6. Yum! I love Nature Valley bars and granola. I’ll have to try this new bar out, too. I’m sure it will become a staple in our pantry!

  7. Those look great! I love energy / protein bars – sometimes you just need something fast that doesn’t require any preparation!

  8. These sound so good. I could really use these as a great snack when I am on the run. I really like sweet and salty. Thank you so much for sharing these. God Bless

  9. The combination of full-time work and children under 7 is a stressful one unless there is a full-time nanny.Housekeeping should be the domain of the whole family ,not just the mother. The point is that to do a professional job well you need commitment and periods of rest to recharge your batteries. You really cannot be a clock-watcher if you want to progress. For that reason,I think full-time work should be shelved until the children are more independent, but off course that is not always possible today. I simply recharge and stay energized by eating clean and taking a minimum of 30 minutes for JUST ME everyday!
