This post is a part of the Behind the Scenes link up where we show you photos – and tell the real story behind them. A sneak peek behind the scenes, a look past the edges of the photo to the life behind it.

The Story:
Since re-naming my blog Memoirs of a Clueless Woman last summer, I wanted to update my picture. I wanted something that would be more reflective of the brand; and not just me smiling in another classic head shot. I bought an awesome camera a month or so ago and had been testing it out with all sorts of shots (like the pics in my personal facebook profile cover photo). I was absolutely giddy about taking a new picture for my blog. But I really got stumped. How does one “look clueless;” I thought to myself: I don’t have a clue. The irony is not lost on me… Haha.
I found a picture on the internet after searching for “clueless woman” and that is what inspired my pose. I’ve been busy rebuilding my new blog site and used the updated design for color inspiration. The black and white, with reddish/pink links, and then there’s all that purple in the “as seen in” section of the header. So, I pulled out this shirt that I bought who knows when and thought it went perfectly with my blog’s color scheme. I gussied up, grabbed my on-demand photographer (i.e. don’t you just love sisters?!), and headed for the dining room. Yes, that happens to be my favorite backdrop (…until the weather gets warmer that is).
I am the Clueless Woman
It’s important to me that I have an image that relates to the meaning of my blog; which is all about me being happily clueless. Admitting that I don’t have all the answers. And sharing my journey to create a life that I love while caring for my family. I can only hope that this image will catch the eye of my readers and resonate with them. Hopefully give them a chuckle. And provide a warm welcome when they interact with my brand. So, mission accomplished?
I want to hear from you!

I love reading your blog. You seem to have so much wisdom and a very loving woman. I wish you were able to write a new story every day. Thank you so much for sharing
I love the picture! It is fun and fitting for your blog name. And it is refreshing to see you so honest. My big pet peeve is blogs where the writer acts as if they know everything and is perfect at everything.

Thanks Kandi! I am so in agreement – there’s nothing that will make me click away (never to return again) than someone who boats like they are perfect and know it all. Thanks so much for stopping by:)
I love the photo, the name of your blog, and your attitude!! It’s refreshing to see a blog that doesn’t claim to have all the right answers!!! I’m glad I found your site – I’m definitely going to follow it!

Capturing an image for your blog or any online website is not an easy task. The image is catchy and gives charm in a “clueless” way.

Thanks for the feedback Jewel! I really appreciate it:)
This was a fun read … so I guess you are one clue less having taken a profile shot already Carin. You look happily clueless which isn’t bad — the picture has a friendly feel to it. If you wanted the text memoirsofaclueless.com to stand out though, the font color is not helping it.

Hi Luchie! Thanks for the feedback:) It sounds like the picture came across as intended. Yay! I noticed on the smaller file size the font is harder to read… so, I may change that. Thanks again!
